Tips for Building the Perfect Bouquet

With years of experience putting together tailor-made arrangements for our brides with our exclusive in-house floral team, here are some essential tips we follow when crafting the perfect wedding bouquet.

The bigger the dress, the bigger the bouquet!

When building a bouquet, always consider the size of the dress. While size proportion to the dress is important, it’s also crucial to keep the bouquet as balanced as possible when going for a bigger arrangement. Packing in too much of a good thing can cause the bouquet to be overly top-heavy increasing the chances of the bouquet falling to pieces by wear and tear throughout your big day.

On a budget? Make sure you check what season your favorite flowers are blossoming.

Assembling and crafting your own bouquet is a cost-effective way of staying in budget for your wedding, but only if you are tailoring your bouquet with flowers that are in season. Any component that is out of season is bound to cost more and will have much fewer options available compared to flowers that are in bloom. To ensure you have a wider pallete of colors to create with without spiking the cost, always plan your flower arrangement around the time of the year.

Consult a florist before the big day for an expert opinion.

Feel confident in your vision. Meet with an experienced florist, such as our in-house floral team long before your big day to guarantee your arrangement matches exactly what you envisioned in your dreams. A consultation ensures you choose the right flowers to stay on budget and that you have the right ingredients to craft a bouquet to inspire.

There are a million bouquets, but only one you. Add a personal touch!

Inject your identity, history, and essence into your bouquet making it uniquely you. Great ways to do this, include adding anything sentimental to your experience: Cloth, ribbon, jewelry or our favorite, a small locket with a cherished photo.

Expand your vision to consider the wedding party bouquet and boutonnieres

The bride’s bouquet should never be designed in a vacuum. Always consider the aesthetic of the bridal party, including their bouquets and the boutonnieres of the groomsmen. Craft them together to create a seamless assemblage using complimentary colorways and flower crossovers, all while scaling these other arrangements smaller than the bride’s own bouquet.
